We are offering a fascinating old residence in the municipality of Incisa Scapaccino, in its historic village, whose architecture and culture enclose traces of past life in every corner. Borgo Villa, located on the hill of the same name, in the past was entirely surrounded by walls and was the seat of the Aleramic Marquisate of Incisa, which remained autonomous until 1.548. It still preserves several historical monuments such as the church of San Giovanni Battista, the remains of the old castle, the suggestive church of the Carmine dating back to the 15th century and the 18th century 'New Castle', which we present in this advertisement. This property was renovated at the end of the nineteenth century in neo-Gothic style and is architecturally organised around an enchanting garden, the vegetation of which echoes the green of the large park of about two hectares that surrounds the property and gradually disperses into the woods. The overall nucleus of the building covers about 1,300 square metres and the living quarters are spread over two floors connected by two wide side staircases, comprising about 20 rationally arranged rooms. On the ground floor there is a living room with coffered ceiling, a wooden library with adjacent reading room with fireplace and frescoed ceilings, a sitting room with piano and pointed windows, a kitchen, a living room with large fireplace and a bathroom. On the second floor there is a sewing room, two storerooms, two bathrooms and seven bedrooms connected by a beautiful corridor with stately floors. The atmosphere recreated in these rooms recalls the decorum of a bygone era and time stands still in contemplation. In addition to the living quarters, the castle includes porticoes, terraces, the storeroom and woodshed, the crenellated walls and the charming turret with loggia whose sand-coloured walls contrast well with the liveliness of the garden. Finally, in the basement we find the cellar on two levels, which could be described as monumental in size and beauty. Worthy of note is also the large park that surrounds the property and contains the remains of the original castle, an important historical memory of the village and the entire marquisate. In this enchanting place it would be possible to build an infinity pool with views over the valley.
SITE
We are located in the peaceful reality of Piedmont, in a small village situated in a very panoramic position. The property is 20 km from the Alessandria Sud exit (A26 motorway, which connects Lake Maggiore to Genoa, and thanks to which, in about an hour and forty minutes by car you can reach both Genoa and Milan), 30 minutes from Asti, 17 minutes from the Felizzano exit, an hour and ten from Turin and forty minutes from Alba. The village is part of the Piedmontese territory, which since 2014 has been listed as a UNESCO heritage site. The gentle hills of the area and the distance from industrial settlements and large cities offer the best conditions for a peaceful life and for pleasant walks or bicycle rides. The first written records of the village, most probably of Roman origin, date back to the Middle Ages. Until the 16th century it was the only inhabited centre in the village.
