SITEThe house is situated at the entrance to the village of Bergamasco, nestled in the foothills of the Monferrato. It’s a quarter of an hour from the highway toll booths and about an hour from the airports of Turin and Genoa just over an hour from Milan and an hour and a half from Malpensa International Airport. The area is part of the Piedmontese territory that was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014. The town is lively, and for decades the renowned Regional Truffle Fair, one of the area's characteristic products, has been held there annually. There are a number of bars, the tobacconist, a restaurant and stores selling food and typical products, the butcher's store, the hardware store, the repair workshop and the pharmacy, which make for a pleasant stay without having to resort to the car for daily needs. The village has a Town Hall, Post Office, kindergarten and elementary school. Middle schools are just a fifteen-minute drive away, and the nearby towns of Alessandria and Nizza Monferrato also offer a wide choice of high schools. There is also a generous supply of open-air markets, particularly that of Nizza Monferrato on Friday mornings, where every third Sunday of the month, there is the well-known antiques market. The agricultural, tourist and residential characteristics of the area allow for an excellent quality of life, in the midst of nature, with the possibility of using footpaths and routes on foot or by bicycle (with the possibility of hiring eBikes or participating with local truffle hunters and their dogs in the search for truffles).
